We will always replace items lost in the mail due to the carrier's fault. 

We will not replace items lost due to customers providing the wrong delivery address. 

To replace your lost shipment, your order must have been a tracked and insured parcel per our shipping options. All un-tracked and uninsured shipments are not eligible for replacement.

When a package is shipped within Canada or the USA, there will be no duties or customs imposed. 

USA customers will not be charged duties or customs unless their order totals over $800 USD.

For all other international destinations, your package may be subject to import taxes, customs duties, and/or fees imposed by the destination country. As a seller, we are expected to comply with the import laws and regulations of the countries we ship to. This includes accurately representing the contents of your package. For example, we must ensure that a sold item is not marked “gift” on a customs declaration form.

• Your order may be subject to VAT, import duties, and/or taxes, which are levied once your package reaches your country. 
• Popov Leather ships your package DDU, “duties and taxes unpaid,” and does not collect the VAT, duties, and/or taxes and cannot predict what your particular charges may be. If you incur these additional charges, they must be rendered for your package to clear customs.

Unfortunately, we cannot redirect or reroute packages once they have left our workshop.

It is normal for packages to not be scanned for up to 7-10 days when traveling to its destination. This can happen during especially busy times (November-December) or if a scan was skipped at any distribution center.

However, if it's been more than 2 weeks and you haven't seen your package updated with an entry scan, please reach out so we can investigate further.

Our products are heirloom quality and intended to be passed on through generations.

All items are guaranteed for life if damage occurs through the fault of our craftsmanship when used under normal conditions and for the purpose intended. We will cover all shipping costs; just send it to us for a free repair (or replacement).

This lifetime warranty covers faults in materials and workmanship and does not apply to any damage resulting from misuse, abuse, negligence, or accidents. Damage such as markings or discoloration are not protected by this warranty (also known as patina).

Only one return transaction per order will be accepted. Therefore, it is best to carefully examine ALL items received to ensure satisfaction before returning a portion of your order.

If you’ve paid with Klarna or AfterPay, any repayments already made will be refunded to your Klarna or AfterPay account. If you paid with a Credit Card or PayPal, the full amount of the returned items (minus the shipping cost) would be refunded to your original account. If you paid with a Gift Card, your refund would be issued to that gift card.

At this time we are only offering personalization (initials, names, dates) on our products. 

We are not accepting commissions for new designs. 

However, we encourage you to submit your idea for a new product. If we choose your suggestion, you will get a gift card and the final prototype for free.

We can laser-engrave initials, names, and dates. Celebrate a special occasion or give a truly unique gift. Our engraving is permanent and will never fade. Your choice of printing will be crisp and easy to read. 

Features: 

• You can add a name, date, or initials (limit 10 characters). 
• We use Times Roman 26pt font. Each letter is about 2-4mm wide x 4-5mm tall. 
• All punctuation, numbers, characters, and symbols are available.
• All engraving will be on the front bottom-right corner of all our products.
• We cannot engrave images unless you qualify as a wholesale or corporate order (see below).

• Profanity

All products with engravings are final sale.

For private label accounts and corporate gifting, we are happy to offer logo engraving and more complex designs. We can only offer this to customers who purchase in larger volumes as this is a time-consuming process for us.

We have worked with small boutique stores, restaurants, and beyond. Typically our clients will take advantage of having a custom logo made for corporate gifts or charity events. 

About our private label and corporate engraving:

• We charge an extra fee based on how complex the project is and if you need help editing your image/design. 
• We will not etch licensed images or logos unless you are the copyright holder or represent the business with direct authority to use licensed images and logos.
• Images must be provided in PNG, PDF, PSD, SVG, or AI format. Ideally, the image is vector-based; it must be black and white (not grayscale or color)

Unfortunately we are unable to offer custom colors outside of what is already offered on our website. We do have customers ask for unique combinations of thread and leather, but we sadly cannot customize our products this way.

We’re a small shop and small team and we don’t have the capacity to modify our current lineup of products.

As our company and team grow, and we keep getting custom requests like yours, we might be able to introduce further customization in the future.

Patina is the value that time puts on any object.

Patina is what forms on natural materials such as wood, denim, canvas, metal, and stone. It’s a signature of high-quality items not normally found on their cheaper counterparts (think of big box store jeans VS raw denim).

We believe that things should get better over time, not worse. Which is why we work with traditional methods and high-quality materials.

Our full-grain leathers do not require initial treatment. However, we recommend applying leather balm if you plan on exposing our goods to the elements (ie. you like to hike with our book covers). 

All our leathers should be conditioned every 6-12 months with leather balm.

Due to the nature of full-grain leather, every roll absorbs dyes uniquely, which means the color may differ slightly from what is depicted in our images. Additionally, the color representation can vary on different monitors and phone screens, so an exact match cannot be guaranteed.

Finally, this is a handmade piece; expect minor imperfections - this is what makes your product so special. These are some examples of products in our shop, note that these are all the same colors but can vary in tone, simply because they are tanned by hand and full-grain leather.

We exclusively work with full-grain leather sourced from renowned tanneries such as Horween Leather Co., Wickett & Craig of America, and Seidel Tanning Corp.

Many people consider the leather/tannery industry to be very bad for the environment with their use of chrome dyes and lots of tanning chemicals. We choose to work only with US-based tanneries that must comply with strict EPA regulations and safe working conditions.

For example, our suppliers voluntarily submit to industry audits that look at many factors, including water and energy usage, traceability, and effluent treatment (the list is pages long). In fact, our tanneries continually improve their waste streams and have full-time chemists that work on this regularly. 

However, the chrome concern is unfounded if the tanning process is completed correctly. 

The issue here is when chrome is not taken up into the leather - this is easy to measure and is done so daily during the tanning process.

Due to the way PayPal and our eCommerce platform integrate, we can only accept PayPal payments in US dollars. If you wish to pay in Canadian dollars, a credit card is the only way possible.

No, we do not allow coupon stacking. Occasionally we might run sales on our websites where coupon codes can be used in addition to already discounted items.

Even as a Canadian e-commerce business, we are obligated to charge, report and remit state-level taxes where our business meets the Economic Nexus threshold. Economic Nexus is based strictly on the sales volume and/or unit count we sell into each US state.

If you're seeing two of the same charges on your credit card statement, It's likely that the payment for your order was rejected initially (maybe due to insufficient funds or an error with your bank) and so there's a pending charge on your bank statement.

Typically, these pending charges drop off your statement within 24 hours.

Your best bet is to always confirm with your bank or credit card company that this is the case. We do not store or have access to customer credit card information, so we are unable to place charges. They are always initiated and processed by the customer.

Typically after an order is canceled or refunded, your funds will appear in your bank within 3-5 business days. Although this can vary. We always recommend calling your bank to confirm when the funds will be available.

If an order is refunded within 72 hours of the original transaction, it will appear as an adjustment or reversal of the original charge. Not a separate refund.

For a perfect fit, measure the belt you wear now and use our belt sizing chart to help you. If you don't have a belt to measure, use your favorite pair of jeans and add 2" to their waist size. 

We designed our wallets to have tight-fitting pockets for the cards initially, as the leather will stretch with use. 

If the pockets weren’t tight, the cards might fall out. However, it doesn’t take long for the wallet to conform to your cards, with the perfect fit—easy to get at your cards without falling out. 

We recommend using your wallet for a few weeks to see how it feels and to allow the leather to relax.

We sew all our goods by hand, and there are 2 very important reasons why:

We use full-grain leather which is leather with the complete grain intact. The surface hasn’t been altered except (in almost all cases) the hair has been removed.

This leather can include natural markings such as scarring, blemishes, insect bites, branding, and stretch marks. But these markings are considered the signature of fine leather goods. 

A common misconception is that these types of markings are “defects.” Instead, think of these as proof of natural origin. These markings incorporate the life of the animal. The absence of natural markings often means the leather is of lesser quality. 

We do not consider natural markings a defect and embrace the unique nature of every animal hide we work with. There is a good chance your Popov Leather product will have some form of natural marking.

Please be aware that every roll of leather absorbs dyes differently and coloring may appear slightly different than shown in our pictures. Every monitor or phone screen is calibrated differently, exact color cannot be guaranteed. Our products are shown through images and descriptions as accurately as possible.

We do not make RFID-blocking wallets, but we offer an RFID-blocking card that fits inside all our products.

Our leather balm is made from triple filtered beeswax, a special formulation of seed oil and naturally occurring lipids. This conditioning compound is made by hand and uses only natural ingredients.

No. Our products do not have California warnings. The leather and metal hardware we use do not contain chemicals currently listed under the California Proposition 65 list.

Sometimes the spring bar clip will lose its "spring." 

To troubleshoot this, just twist the top of the click clockwise. That should tighten the spring and fix it.

Natural leather can look dramatically different from one product to the next.

This leather is tanned without dyes or pigments. Since every cow is different, so is their skin. Some are lighter, some are darker, some have marbling (fat lines), some have scarring, etc. It all shows up and and is what makes every hide unique; it tells the story of each cow's life. And it's why we love working with it. Every product we make with it is truly unique.

Overtime this leather will develop patina and darken up dramatically.

When a wallet, belt, or any other leather product goes through the washing machine, it will not damage or ruin the leather. The leather will have its oils washed out and need them replenished. We typically recommend massaging leather balm, neatsfoot oil, or even vegetable oil back into the leather to restore those lost oils.

We often get asked about the natural shaping of our leather belts. Our belts are intended to adapt to your unique body shape, similar to how leather shoes conform to your feet.

This custom fit is something we're proud of. Your leather belt will naturally curve and indent, particularly at the back, reflecting your body's contours, size, and how you wear your trousers. This is not just normal but beneficial, ensuring a snug and comfortable fit.

You might notice the belt shaping more around the belt keepers, especially if there's a single keeper at the center back of your trousers. While some people alternate threading their belts in a different direction to balance the shaping, it's not essential. It's just the belt doing its job, conforming to you.
